Default Maximum allowable difference in tire size?

I've looked through FAQ's and could not find an answer so I will throw it out here.

What is the maximum allowable size difference between front and rear tires before it starts to effect the traction control? Example: if my front tires have a 25.9" rolling height and my rear tires have a 26.3" rolling height, will it effect my traction control computer? I've heard numbers such as 10% but I don't know if there is any fact to it or if it just an old wives tale.

Also, can you put a 315 on a 10" wheel? It says a recommended width of 10" but I was wanting to squeeze a little more tire back there...

Thanks in advance.

Tom,

The maximum allowable out of spec rolling radius is around 3%. A 315 will not fit on a 10" wheel.. a 315 will JUST fit a 10.5 (You will see what i mean when your wheels arrive).. You can go with a 295 on a 10".

Let me know what tires you are looking at and ill calculate up the proper rolling spec for you

before you jump into this, check the Goodyear webiste. The stock tires are about 26" OD on the front, but 27" OD on the back.

If you go to the 1010tires.com website, you can use the calculator they have. You set the stock sizes on the left, and the replacement sizes on the right. It then calculates the OD and tells you if it is within tolerance.

Good luck with the swap.
