My 02 never needed any between changes, 10k to 12k miles. This one is more in line with my 00, sort of all over the map.

Had the oil changed at 2,000 miles. No oil consumption at all.

I used about 1/2 quart before my first change at 700 miles. Haven't used any since and I am at 3000.

First change at 6000 miles (DIC said 72% oil life remaining, but the oil color was starting to darken), oil was still at the full mark.

My experience mirrors most of the others. I changed it the first time at just over 3K and there was no appearent oil consumption. I'm now at about 8K and it doesn't appear it's used any since the change. I do know that some oil consumption can be masked by the build up of various polutants that accumulate in the crankcase and replace oil that has been consumed. However, if that is the case in my engine it doesn't appear that the oil consumption is excessive.

10K miles, 2 oil changes and no comsumption. I had wondered what it might be when the early info said they had put the floating rings , ala the 01 ZO6, in the LS2. Appears to be no problem.
