Didn't someone already post that info? Gonna throw in a Hurst when it shows up.
I copied this from that post I believe -
"1. open and remove four screws from the armrest cover.
2. pry up the mag ride selector or air bag off light cover....depends on your equipment which panel you have. it just pries off it is held on with 2 clips.
3. remove 2 screws that are under the cover
4. pull up leather cover on parking brake and remove the 2 screws located on the side of the passenger side of the console.
5. remove gear shift lever. pull the leather down and remove the screw that is in the side of it.
6. now pull from where the 2 screws went under the cover. pull up and away from the dash. it should come free pretty easy. do not go crazy here you have several wire connected depending on you equipment once again. i had a traction control switch, 2 cig lighters, hazard lights and 2 seat heaters to undo. i left the air bag switch panel connected and just passed it through the hole in the console."
I installed my Hurst this Sunday and it went flawless. I didn't even unhook all the wire harnesses, just pulled the plug on two and laid the console on it's side. From beginning to end the process took three hours and that included a break for coffee. Painless, detail oriented and very easy. Just be careful not to scratch things up. I also had an unused wire connector near the AB-off switch. I just taped it up and left it laying where it was. All is now great and the shifts are very very nice. I left the factory (middle weight) springs in and when it loosens up a bit it should be perfect for me. Oh, one thing, everyone will tell you to reverse the rubber cone to fit the new shifter, but it has a hard plastic circle that prevents it from being inverted or reverse rolled, Just trim off the hard plactic circle and it'll then do what everyone says it will. Go for it! P
I hear you, but considering there are a few changes and no documentation I took my time to be sure I wouldn't bust a snap or fastener. The single best improvement is just one screw out and the shifter **** is off. I think your 45 minutes would be good the second time around.
