Does anyone know?
Does anyone have a schmatic of or know the location of the reverse switch on the mn6? I have to disable it or make it think it's in reverse so I can shutdown in any gear. I know it affects other things but I'll trip it only when I press the off button.

There are two reverse switches on the same side of the transmission, one is used to ensure the vehicle is in reverse while the column locks and the other is used to control when the body computer turns everything off. They are both connected to the same voltage source on the body computer and one passes through one switch and back to the body computer while the other is connected to the column lock computer through the other switch.
There are several diagnostics that check the timing of these switches relative to each other and vehicle states and will set various codes.
I strongly discourage changing these switches, especially since one is there to protect you from locking the column while driving.
In the end you will have to have a switch to flip anyhow, why not just put the vehicle in reverse for a second to shut it down, then you can place it in any gear you want. It does not have to remain in reverse, just leave it there until the column locks and the DIC is blank. I think the horn always goes off if it isn't shut down all the way.

No switches will be used, I will use the natural sequence to trip a relay which will keep me and others safe from locking things up at an inopportune moment. I do appreciate your concern, thanks for an even more enlightening explaination.

I plan on putting in into the shutdown circuit so it will shut down if not in reverse. I just hate the reverse thing, it's a stupid restriction and this can't be any tougher than a CAGS eliminator. I will share, no issue there. ALLDATA is sending me the sheets. Sure wish those manuals were out but ALLDATA will do.
