UUC, which has had the best BMW aftermarket shifters for more than 10 years, is currently developing one for the C6. Rob, the owner of UUC, recently drove the C6 of Jim at Lingenfelter and loved it--except for the shifter.
UUC takes their time in development (I know-I waited months for my shifter for my CTS-V), but the product they deliver is first rate.

Not in my expierence, all shifters wear in the gates over the first thousand or so miles and when the gates wear in the effort decreases. That is why they are adjustable. I love the original Hurst feel but the gates are still tight, they will wear and all will become perfect.

It's not the shifter that is wearing in, it's the transmission itself.
Try this. Take a shifter (like a Hurst or B&M) when it is not installed in the car. Move it around - up and down and side to side. Do you feel any resistance? No, you won't. Trust me on this.
The reason for the adjustments is to get the degree of "centering" action that you want.

WOW.. You are considering a UUC product? They are laughable at best recently in the BMW world..
Funniest bumper sticker i have seen reads; Do your mods "sUUCk" ?
I own a BMW, as well as a C6, as well as a CTS-V. So I've used UUC products and have nothing but raves.
Sounds like a little (un)professional jeolousy on your part.
Jealousy? not quite.. it just comes from experience.. 10 years in BMWCCA racing.. ive seen plenty.. Owned 6 BMW's.. including 2 E30 M3's.. 1 E36 M3 and 2 E46 M3's.. UUC doesnt even make any of their own products, its all outsourced. None of it is designed nor manufacturer by them. Their exhausts for example (Other then TSE3 which is made by Corsa) have fitment issues.. Particularly their rasp pipe for the E46 M3..
Not bashing the people that work there.. just stating facts based on experience in that realm.

Perfect example.. 2 out of 12 responders say they have had no problems.. other people go over to Rogue for their parts.. This is not uncommon.
Thanks for the link. You certainly used a lot of literary license in your post. I think this message--directly from the link you posted--summarizes things nicely:
Message: Seeing as there are only a HANDFUL of people that are unhappy with their Short Shift Kit. Most of the people on this board LOVE their UUC SSK and wholeheartedly recommend it to others on this board.
You are one of VERY few people that are unhappy with their shifter.
The other person that was unhappy with their shifter had it installed improperly. (leading to buzzing of the shifter).
Anyway, yllwfvr you should read a few pages down, or use the search. The UUC Short Shift Kit has been discussed MANY times before.
The Rogue Engineering Shifter is simply a modified STOCK shifter. It's DEFINITELY not worth all that money for a hacked up stock shifter.
Whether UUC(?) sucks or not is each of your opinions... Lets stay on topic. To the original poster, here's a link to a thread w/ the Husrt and install pics so you can see it in car (credit to lager99).
