In short, when exiting a hard corner, the engine simply revs for a period of time like its in neutral before engaging. This happened to me at the track on Sunday and my conclusion is that the tranny fluid must be dirty, low or both. Any other possibilities?
I hope you've still got warranty. Sounds to me like you've got bands about to go. I'd be headed back to the dealer on that one (assuming that since you said C6, you've still got a warranty).

I'd be expecting a new transmission, from GM. Don't bother with the fluid...take it to the dealership you've got a waranty still.

sorry for the ignorance, but what do you mean when you say "you've got bands about to go"....what is bands?
Sounds like your tranny is slipping. Just had mine rebuilt. Kevlar clutches (9 pack) shift kit (transgo) and a 2400 stall torque converter. It's a different beast now. All for just under $2200. Good luck, mine was not in warranty.
perhaps the fluid is sloshing around in there and it is starved.
You need to get this looked at as you are going to burn it up if you have not already. I have heard many other C6 people mention this same problem. I am surprised as isn't it the same tranny and placement that the C5 has?

How is that Torque converter around town? Too much stall? Does the transgo shift kit give you whiplash during mild gear shifts?
The Chevrolet service rep told me yesterday that GM uses a 4L60-E transmission in the C6. Do you have documentation showing a 4L65-E transmission?
From the Corvette Museum's specification sheet http://www.corvettemuseum.com/specs/...wertrain.shtml and any other's that I have seen " The available automatic transmission in the C6 is the new Hydra-Matic 4L65-E four-speed." I checked the owners manual and it doesn't say.

Yes...even the write-up in Corvette Quarterly had stated that it was a 4L65-E transmission. Hmmm...
Hi Richard, I added to my post to bring it back to the top. My C6 was built in 12/04 (#11630) also. Your describing exactly what mine was doing. I don't think it is TC or AH because these should slow the engine down not let it spin. If my does this again it will go back to the dealer and I'll post. I cancelled out of a driving class in Willows CA because of this problem.
Do not know your speed but if it did down shift you might see back end pass the front. run it like a manual 1st is good to 65 mph 2nd good to 95mph 3 have seen 125 mph and stiil not ready to shift to D. If you let it up shift or down on its owne in or out of a turn you are looking for trouble.
