I agree with ALFA 1's comments. I having been driving a manual since 1971 and have never had a problem. I don't have my C6 MN6 yet. When I do get it, I will drive it the way I have always driven my manuals as ALFA 1 said.

OK, guys I've had the same issue periodically, but I've noticed the strangest thing. A few days ago, after shifting into second to try to realign the synchros, I focefully tried to get into first again. It worked, but the strangest thing happened - the speedometer did the startup sequence (sweep from 0-100%, then back). I assumed that I may have unintentionally jammed the off switch, but I did it again a few days later and saw the same thing. Weird, right?
Or is this a shifter problem? I just put the C6 shifter in my C5 two weeks ago. It shifted fine for the first two days then it started with the first gear problem. Occassionally at first, now all the time. My C5 shifter never has done that in two years. Coincidence?

happened alot on my, usually silky smooth, G35 Coupe 6MT. happened alot on my 2000 Maxima SE 5sp. happens to my buddy with an 05 M3 6sp. you learn the tricks to get around and prevent this stuff from happening...but everyone sleeps on it now and then. especially when you just sped around a bunch of slow bastages in traffic and then at the next stop light you cant go and they start beeping at you
