Default C6 with 100 hp more?

I heard a rumor that next years C6 models will offer 100 hp more than this years. Not the Z, but verts and coupes. Anyone? John.

Rumor! Why would they offer a 100 more? Too close to a real corvette, the Z06.

I'm trying to understand??? Are you suggesting all other corvettes are not real because they are not ZO6’s?

No. You must have heard about a z06 and missed the part about it being a z06 c6!

That said, I haven’t heard any rumors regarding a 100hp increase for next year but if that’s true for the standard C6 then the new 07- ZO6 would have to be at least 600Hp. Hey; come to thank of it, that can't be ether cause that would make the current C5-ZO6 and the new C6-ZO6's not real Corvettes.

Default No HP increases next year.

This week's Auto Week had an article that GM announced they will not increase HP on 2006 Corvettes of either model until they develope a new engine. The one they are using now is at its limit without having serious trouble. So the 505 C6 Z06 is as fast as Corvette will be providing for a while. They might creep up the C6 400 a little but not enough to challenge the Z06.

I'm still amazed (after having owned a number of smaller Japanese sporty types) that 350+ hp is beginning to sound so meager.......

Well, Rumor over at the Viper Forum is that next years Viper will have 600 HP...presumably to trump the awesome Z06.

No official announcement yet. But I could see why speculation on such things is going kookoo.

I think it's healthy and positive for both sport car companies to feel a little competition. Makes both developers more intent to make us the buyers fall in love with their creations.

Its all good me brothers! ~~~JadeDragon

GM has always liked to raise the HP in smaller increments, 5 or10 HP just enough to make people think there has been an improvement from year to year
