This morning, I went to friend's house to met up with a bunch of others from car club to travel to another town to a craft fair that requested us to put some of our cars on display. When I started up car to leave friend's house, radio was turned off, even though I had it on when I shut down car. When I turned radio back on, all of my preset XM preferences were gone. As I tabbed through source to preset my favorites, XM preset something other than the ones I just selected. After we got to the fair and parked our cars, I thought about trying again to fix the preset stations. Upon pushing accessories, the radio came on and all of my original preset stations were back.
Any chance that you were using a different fob when the former presets disappeared? They are tied to the fob and get saved automatically. Of course, you can save them manually with the button on the door.
BTW, on my car, I have to turn off the radio when I turn off the engine, else it will keep playing, using RAP juice and eventually draining the battery.

It is normal for the radio to continue to play in RAP mode until you open the driver's door. If it doesn't shut off then, you haven't done a proper car shutdown, and you may suffer the dreaded DBS because the car computers will continue to produce a parasitic draw.
Yes, I had forgotten that RAP shuts off when you open the door. Obviously, I don't ever use it.
Radio may need to be reprogrammed. That's what my dealer did to mine the 3rd time the XM radio came on, but with no sound. All bands would display, including the station no., and on XM, the name of the song, etc., just no sound.
He said if it happened again, they would replace the radio.
Even with Fob #1, you can select the setting for Driver #2 by pushing the button on the driver's door. I had the same "problem" with my XM until I realized that the strange settings were for Driver #2. I was playing with the memory settings at the time of my "problem".
