Default Kooks Header Question

Can anybody knowledgeable on the Kooks headers maybe help me out - I'm considering ordering through TByrne's GP they've got going on.

I want to get the headers, and I know I'm gonna get the 1-3/4" part# 6600.

However, I don't know exactly what I want or need back of that.

I've got Corsa Sports, and I want to get the Kooks center section. I'm looking on the TByrne website at the pictures (http://www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/c6catalog.html) and have a couple questions:

Thanks for any real-world input anybody has on this. I'm going to call TByrne and talk with their tech guys tomorrow, but I just want to educate myself as much as possible in advance.

Call Sean at LA Performance Division (818) 998-3966. I just picked up my C6 Z51 6 Speed Vert from Sean earlier today. I already had the Cosrsa sport exhaust on the car, and Sean installed Kooks headers with the X pipe and 02 extenders. The car is absoultely awesome!!! See my post that I posted today on this forum.

    Default Kooks 3 inch system

I don't think they even make a 2 1/2 inch system. Early versions were 3 inch just past the X pipe then down to 2 1/2 to the pipes over the axle. Now there 3 inches all the way to the pipes over the axle. The whole system is slip fit with clamps. You might have to tack weld in some places because these clamps sometimes don't hold just right. This will keep you from hitting the frame in some places. As for the kit, they send everything, including gaskets. DON'T use them, instead get factory round steel gaskets. They work perfect and they woun't leak, you woun't have to re-torque the header bolts either. Those paper gaskets they send woun't last very long. That's old school thought. Remember to tie wrap the 02 extenders away from the headers and cats. The cats have heat shields so It's a good idea to bring the 02's over the top; drill a small hole at the front edge of the torque tube cover and tie wrap the 02's above the shields. Good luck
