Reverse Gear - Manual Transmission
I have been driving a manual transmission for decades and have had no problems to date in the two months that I have owned my C6. However, yesterday, as I was turning and backing out of a parking space, I was attempting to let the clutch pedal out completely for the first time (have not needed to before this). However, as I approached full extension, the car jerked as though the gear was jamming and the engine started to stall. I immediately depressed the pedal and attempted a full release again. The same thing happened and this time it stalled. The feeling was that something was grabbing or not meshing properly. I restarted the engine and put the car in reverse again. This time I fully released the clutch without turning the car. Everything ran normally. I tried to duplicate the actions causing the jerking and stalling and could not. It was as though whatever was interfering with the drive-train had been removed. Has anyone experienced anything like this? This was not the result of improper accelerator action or anything like that.
