Default Need Help with Kooks headers

I'm a new vert owner and I am going to have the corsa sport exhaust installed this weekend. I want to install kooks headers later. Should I do it all at once later. or does it even matter if I install them at different times. Also what size headers should I buy? should I get kooks hi flow cats and x-pipe? What does the x-pipe and hi flow cats do for the car? I just want to do things right and in the right order. And if there is something else I should purchase along with these mods that I'm leaving out, please let me know. All help and reccomendations will be greatly appreciated! I just want more HP and want to do it right

Then you would be better off, money wise, to do it all at one time. If you did the Corsa first and then did the Kooks later they would have to take the H-pipe out of the Corsa anyways to put the Kooks X-pipe on. I did mine myself, so it didn't matter. Great sound.

If your going to install kooks system later, don't get corsa's x-pipe. The kooks system includes the 3 inch high flow cats and X-pipe as one piece. The two other 2 foot sections are also 3 inch to the pipes going over the rear end. Don't plan on any hp gains with the corsa or any other cat back system. They do improve sound quality. After your install of the entire system look to get your car tunned. The car will run fine untunned and you'll notice a great improvement over stock. Tunning makes these cars run great. Ron Zimmer of Z industries has been tunning my cars for 15 years, and he used my C6 as a mule to build his C6 program. Mine is a 6 speed Z51, Kooks system, magnaflows, mod air box, and 160 thermostat. After tunning I have zero TM anywhere. My fuel trim is in the low 13's to high 12's all the way to 6800rpm. I have no cat protection with is a super rich condition at high rpms which kills top end performance. My timming is at 26 degeees and not a hint of knock or ping.My fan controls have been lowered. My miss fire codes have been adjusted so I can run any size cam I want and not set a code. All-in-all I have a very happy car. 390RWHP/380RWTQ. Not bad for bolt ons and no cam, YET!

Thanks for the info
After I have everything installed I plan on having Ron Zimmer do the tuning because I have heard nothing but good praise about him. How much could I expect to spend to get my vert tuned?

I just want to install the kooks with the stock exhaust.

Yes, The kooks system is 3 inches all the way to where it starts over the rear end. There tappers down to 2 1/2 inches.

Don't they usually tune on the dyno?

The Kooks X-pipe comes in either 3" or 2 1/2". I used the 2 1/2", because it goes to 2 1/2 at the Corsa anyway.

Default Tunning and the dyno

When Ron Zimmer built the program he did have my car on the dyno so as to check all the parameters, Timming, fuel curve, TM, missfire codes, fan controls , etc. Once the program is built and tested it's good for all the C6 manuals. You just download the program with a tech-2 into your car. Job done. You might want to have a baseline dyno done and then an after the program dyno to see the difference, but it's not necessary. The program works. I've sent many guys to him and every one of them has been very happy with the results. BTW Ron called me yesterday and said he now can tune on the bench, meaning you can now send your PCM to him UPS and have it programed.

The difference in sound is amazing and after you get it tuned, it'll be like whole different car!

I want to add the same setup. Does anyone know if this will be legal in California?
