Default TPM Sensors

Followed a lot of posts from earlier in the year about restting the TPM sensors on the C6. Recently swapped all 4 wheels with new sensors. Was able to put the car in learn mode but could never get the magnet to energize the sensors. Went to the local Chevy dealer this morning. After I showed them how to put the car in learn mode, they took out their RF device (looks like one of those handheld computers used to take inventory in the markets) and reset all 4 sensors in 3 minutes. I was on my way out and they didn't charge me anything. I didn't even buy the car from this dealer. I just wanted to confim that the RF device does the trick while the magnet does not - howver these were brand new, never energized sensors. Maybe the magnet would have worked if I had just swapped sensors too. But thanks to the info in the Forum to set me on the right track.

Magnet will not work on C6, you need the tool and its batteries must be at a good state of charge.

The excerpt from the service manual posted previously in this forum would make you think that the magnet (tool xxxxx) could work in addition to the RF device (tool xxxxx) - but in my case it obviously didn't. Maybe we'll see an aftermarket RF device someday.
