Default Poor throttle response

Has anyone noticed that the throttle response has a bit of a delay? It seems like I need to push the pedal further than on the C5.

Default C6 Throttle response

No problem with my throttle response. I have a little over 1050 miles on my 6 spd DSOM and as soon as you touch the throttle -- you go!! Boy do you go!!

Yes. I have noticed this too. My C6's a week old with 550 miles. ...traded a 350Z for it; its throttle response was instantaneous.

There doesn't seem to be ANY problem whatsoever with my throttle response... I'm quite amazed at how quickly it responds. Mine is a Z51 6 speed... which has the lower gearing, which could have something to do with it. Just curious... wondering how the non-Z51s respond, and auto vs stick? Plus, the dang thing is so smooth, you might not realize how well it just responded until you check the speedo...

The pedal is nonlinear. Small response in early part of its travel, much greater response when you get into the second half of its travel.

It also seems to me (and to others with whom I've
discussed) that the throttle response is different in
1st gear than in 2nd and 3rd. Meaning you press
the throttle further in 1st to get oomph than you
need to in 2nd or 3rd. Very hard to quantify something
like this, just a subjective feeling.

Makes sense, the engine has to rev more in 1st to get a given MPH change than it does in 2nd or 3rd, so you have to open the throttle more to give it the air to rev fast. With the flat as a board torque curve of the LS2, it isn't peaky like a lot of other cars, just smooth steady thrust.

Seems fine on mine as well. Just came from a more powerful Cobra with tons of low end torque to compare it to.

and that will give you a smoother around town feel. It takes awhile to shake off the C5 but I now look for excuses to go somewhere. It certainly came alive after 3K miles.

I have had no problems with the throttle response other than some near ticketed LEO events Seems the same as my older, traditional vehicles. You may have some issue with your pedal return spring or with the TB control TPS

Wouldn't better plugs and performance wires improve throttle response?

No, they are actually really good from the factory. Its all based on the computer.

I am experiencing the same thing. Mine is an automatic, but the delay is not a slow RPM increase but a non-response for say a 1/2 sec. I have driven many big blocks with three speed autos and this is something different. I would think it is thottle position sensor/ ECM related but haven't taken it to the Deal - only have 1,500 miles. Waiting until 3,000 to see if there is anything else that may need ajustment.

I just posted the same question the General forum. My car definitely has a half second delay. My other drive-by-wire cars responded quicker than the C6 (6 speed Z51). I had a little trouble getting used to it at first, but all is well now after 3 weeks.

Could have something similar to my BMW where the computer learns your driving characteristics and adjusts the sensitivity of the pedal movements based on driving habits.........could be....

I did not notice when wy car was stock but it was cold out but after lpe 500 hp head and cam it seemed to have a delay off line and then would rost tires and still run 12.34 in 1/4 mile, have added headers and high flow cats and delay is not there will run car in next couple of weeks and compare time then back to lpe to re tune.do not know cause but lpe reprogramed for tqm but I was first auto and I think they have learned a lot since my car was there. it was a little slow off line but would blow past most cars at track that day.

We also need to remember that the LS2 has the '01 Z06 cam, which makes max power at much higher RPM's than the LS1. At lower RPM's where my 350 HP LS1 was really strong, my LS2 feels kinda like a dog. I just had to remind myself to keep the revs up a bit more; now its really quick, tires break loose at 1/2 throttle! (had a Z06 trans in my '01 vert; C6 is a Z51 6-speed, so gearing was almost the same). Also, my C6 is WAY quicker at 8500 miles than it was at 1000.
