I drove to San Antonio yesterday (about 220 miles round trip) and I noticed a bad heat between the right inside seat bottom and the tunnel. I could not figure out why I was so cool everywhere but the outside of my right upper leg. That area gets really hot! Any ideas on this?

Also as I drove in stop and go traffic at rush hour in Austin on my way back home yesterday the A/C went off three times! It would still be blowing air but it was hot. I would have to push the auto botton two times and then it would come back on. I stopped got gas when I was almost home and when I started the car back up all I got was hot air. It took me severial minutes to get the compressor to kick back on. I guess a visit to the dealer is comming soon.

Heat from the tunnel problem has been documented by many here. Problem seems to be slightly worse for 6-spds. My auto gets just slightly warm. You can buy plates to put on the underside of the car that will supposedly help that problem.

Several have reported the A/C problem, but I don't know if any posted the results of a trip to the dealer or not.

My understanding was that the AC was shutting down on high head pressure for some folks during very hot weather. I didnt pay too much attention since very hot weather isnt a concern in my area but there are several threads on it that might be pulled up with a search.

See my thread here concerning the A/C problem:

Update: A/C failure in HOT weather

The dealer I visited was Henna in Austin. If you talk to Eddy Wallace, he knows all about this issue.

Non Z-51 car? Just curious if there might be some street benefit to those extra coolers...

I drove 700 miles from the dealer to home. No hotspots at all in the car, extremely comfortable the entire trip. Temps were in the 70s. Since then I have done few 5+hr drives, also without issue even on hot days.

Non z51.

How odd!
No heat even in 110 degree weather here.
My C5 got quite warm in the console and right leg areas.
Z51 6 spd.
