That would be 14335's. Try a search for this number and I think you will find it. They are great.

The 14335 and 14336 are the same size except for inlet/outlet. the 14336 are 2.5" OD both and the 14335 are 2.25" OD both. There are also aluminized (read cheaper) in the same dimensions. 12335 and 12336?

I went with the 14336 because of the 2.5" OD, the stock mufflers and tips are restricted to 2" OD outlet.

Jegs catalog has the 14336 and 14335 for $89.96 ea.

Check on magnaflow's site, http://www.magnaflow.com/03buyonline.asp for buying online and you will find several sites for about $80, just ordered mine through one of them on the phone to make sure they were in stock.

14336's here. If I recall, we have a 2.5" pipe going in to the muffler and 2.25" coming out. Either way (14335), you have to adapt on one end.

For the local people, the work was done at:

Kinney's Muffler

Bedford, TX 76022
(877) 851-4356
(817) 282-3700

Total cost was $399 (I used my stock tips).

That installer is a craftsman. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

I installed the 14336. I liked the polished stainless and the fact that the're 2.5" in and out, the stock mufflers are a restriction at the tips, 2.0" OD at the back of the muffler and less than 2.0" ID tips. I bought 2.25" single tips and expanded them to fit the 2.5" outlet. Both the stock and Magnaflows have pipe about 2" long welded on the mufflers

Stock; Body only = 13" long, 12" deep, 9" wide, 2.5" in and 2.0'' out.
14336; body only = 14" long, 9" deep, 4" wide, 2.5" in, and 2.5" out.
14335; body only = 14" long, 9" deep, 4" wide, 2.25" in and 2.25" out.
The aluminized 12000 series is cheaper but I don't know if the sizes are the same.

The stock mufflers weigh 16# ea w/tips, didn't have a scale to weigh the 14336.

Any of the Magnaflow installs you have to remove the exhaust as though you were installing a catback, then measure and cut the over axle pipe to fit the new mufflers, then re-install for a test fit (lots of measurements!), tack the mufflers and the tips, then remove everything again to weld the muffler to the over axle and the tips to the muffler, then you get to re-install everything again and measure and fit again before you weld the hangers. Took us 2.5 hours total.

Costs and markups vary widely on the Magnaflows, Retail list is $135, Jegs is $89.96, small shop cost is around $80, large shop (jobber) cost near $60. Tips are very expensive, lowest 3" single tip S/S double wall I could find retailed at $68.

The sound is just what I wanted, louder than stock, softer than Corsa Sports. You are not going to turn heads from a block away like a Harley but you also keep your neighbors happy when you come home at 3 AM.

The shop that did mine said he would have to get $550 parts and labor to do another the same way.

If you want to spend up to $400 on a set of tips, you can maintain 2.5" through the exit with the 14336 (I used stock tips). The installer may have a preference, since they have to adapt.

The sound is typical American V-8 rumble, exactly what I wanted from this car. Volume over stock varies with throttle. At idle, you are hearing / feeling the rumble. At cruise (no load or decel), it's not much louder. Volume comes on with higher throttle positions, never too much IMHO.

Resonance? One man's music is another man's noise. With the windows up, it can get a little boomy in 6th gear, around 1,400rpm, with high load (throttle position). If I need to move the car, I'll downshift. Not sure how it would work out in an A4.

I didn't weigh, but was surprised at the size of the stock mufflers (that's why I included the pic). They look like they belong on a truck!

Weight of stock mufflers is 16# with tips, it's buried in my long post above. Somebody needs to weigh the 14335 or 14336 before they install them.

The Magnaflows are less than 1/2 the width of stock, you can see the diff. back cover.

I used the stock tips.

I edited my original post with contact info where I had mine done, they had some MagnaFlow tips that were a direct fit (if I recall, they were expensive). They also had many other choices.

I used the Magnaflow 35163 single tips, list is $87.84 each. You should be able to get a lower price from a distributor. They are 2.25" but expand easily to fit the 2.5" muffler outlet.

I went by my local Custom Exhaust shop (who happens to be a Magnaflow dealer) to enquire about getting a pair of these thrown on, while I wait and decide what path I'm taking with the "total mod package".

He whined and danced about what a pain-in-the-*** it would be to install a pair of these on the vette, making the tips line up, etc. Followed by the "you spent $50K on a car, to try and cheep out on the exhaust system" comment. Needless to say, this place will never see another $ from me...
