A 2005 MY C6 with Nav DOES NOT HAVE MP3 playback. Dozens of owners have posted here. There's still a question about whether the 2006 MY Nav will have it.
1SB on the chevy web site states that it comes with MP3 Playback.
But several people on the General board seem to not have MP3 playback with their NAV head unit.
Can anyone here confirm that a car with 1SB/NAV/XM does or does not accept MP3s. (I assume by a data disc?).
Thanks,
Des
When you add the NAV to the 1SB package, the radio with the 6 CD changer and MP3 capability is DELETED. So no changer, no MP3, and no price reduction on the 1SB package for the radio you paid for but do not get when you add NAV.

We all paid an additional $1600 for NAV on top of the 1SB option with NO mp3 & 6 disc.... pretty crazy.

I understand what ya'll are saying, but if you look at virtually every other car, the nav option is $2,000 (and it started at $1400 on the C6). So in a way they are crediting you for the lack of a six disc changer.

Or are they? The US9 6 CD Changer option on the new Z06 is $1,740 (and INCREDIBLE RIPOFF in and of itself) since the Z06 doesn't have a 1SB option. The NAV for the Z06 is a $1,600 upgrade in and of itself over the standard radio NOT the U09 as in the 1SB.
Using that logic, $1,740 of the 1SB package for the C6, is the 6 CD Changer and putting the NAV is + $1,600 more - so that NAV system in a 1SB/C6 is costing $3,340. Understand that the Bose Speaker upgrade in the 1SB is a big part of the upcharge on the stereo - but STILL. You can do a much better job YOURSELF with aftermarket parts, but alas, there's no RADIO DELETE for a 1SB - so get a 1SX or pay for the radio - AND the hassle of ripping all of it and the blose crap out when you get tired of the changer jamming and the head unit getting swapped out.

Rick, I agree with you on the Z06 - I am also put off by their strategy on the upgrades. But that does not change the issue on non-Z06's (at least not yet!)
The radio situation is definitely frustrating. I wound up ordering the 1SB without nav because in the end, my main priority is getting a quality iPod interface, and it's only available for the non-nav systems.

What ipod interface did you choose? I've been looking at the various options, but only find adapters for the c5.
