I picked up my car from LG today. They put in their G5X6E Cam with a Comp 26921 Spring kit, long tube headers, and 160 degree thermostat. The result....400rwhp/383rwtq. Unfortunately, I did not get a base line.
Lou is out of town, so I'll have to wait until he gets back for final tuning/LS2 edit. So, there may be a little more horsepower left to pull out.
I chose the less aggressive cam because I did not want any noticable lope. Also, I'm told it is best suited for supercharging, which is something I'm really interested in.

What was the cost on that setup? Any drivability issues?Or is it just like stock until you mash the gas? How much different does it feel? Alot faster or a little?

With the Corsa Exhaust on it, its really..really loud at WOT, at idle fairly loud. Probably too loud for some, but music to my ears.
Drivability is just fine. The power is noticably stronger in the upper RMP range than before. The cost was $4,500 including Tax.
So I take it the LG headers are finally available for purchase?
As I understand it yes. I was first on the list, so I imagine it would depend on where one is on the waiting list as to how soon they could be shipped.
Cats are a FEDERAL deal. $10K fine is a big deal in my book. Supposedly, for "off road use only" is ok for non-cats. Alot of "regular shops" won't mod an emission control system for fear of getting fined.
Back to the topic though, did they use "O2 eliminators" to simulate the sensors that mount behind the cats? There's got to be alot of "un-catalyzed" emmissions that the cats normally burn up (or at least they're supposed to), and the ECU monitors that too...

Did I read that right? You paid $4500 for a cam and install plus headers?
Cam
Comp 26921 spring kit
Pushrods/7.4" length
headers
prepaid for the LS2 edit that Lou will complete when he returns
160 thermostat
plugs and wires
I paid less than $4,400 including tax.
Both the shop and the owner of the vehicle, and it HAS happened quite a few times - enough to make believers of most muffler shops. You usually get caught when someone rats out a shop that removes the equipment. The Feds get the customer names from the operatior who hopes to get a "deal" from the prosecutor. You read about the busts in the trade mags, who try to get their members observe the current regs - lest they get worse.
