There's a file available with a listing of the options. If you have Adobe Acrobat, here it is. 2006 coupes & verts don't go into production until Sept. 9. 2006 Z06s start production in July.

That is what GM thinks dealers should order and stock. This is also how they estimate production levels, and they order parts from thier suppliers accordingly. They goofed last year, and didn't order enough non-power passenger seat tracks, hence the constraint on the 1SX pkg.
I purchased a 2001 off the showroom floor in August 2000. The car was manufactured 6/21/00. The dealer comment about production begfining around now for 2006's does sound plausible according to facts regarding my 2001. Unless somethings changed for 2006's.
Still would like to know of anyone knows of any teaks or changes? The start month/day is immaterial, just asking about whats changing.

Yes, quite publicly, GM has announced that the MY 2005 vette production will run through Sept. 8. MY 2006 coupe/vert production has been announced as beginning Sept. 9. I thought that was pretty well common knowledge. Has nothing to do with what they did in 2000 or 2001. The 2006 Z06s will start in July, but not the coupes or the verts.

Thanks for the clarification, I was not aware of the production date claims by GM, but then again I really don't follow that closely. Dealer should have known that though!
Are you aware of any tweaks. Basis for the question is, if I were considering moving to a C6, is it prudent to wait for the 2006(improvements?), or just get the best deal NOW on a 2005.
1. rumored 6 speed auto w/ paddle shifters (strong rumor - probably true)
2. new steering wheel
3. rumor of chrome wheel option
4. preferred equip groups packaged differently
The Sept 9 begin of production has been confirmed. You might want to consider a different dealer.
Thanks Mike...I appreciate that input. The paddle shifters possibilty sounds very intersting and may be worth the wait. A new steering wheel and equip packaging changes aren't that compelling to me. I assume the balancer problem I've read some forum members talk about is solved.
My instincy to is to wait for the 2006, assuming they'll have worked out some pesky issues with th 2005 and intro some new improvenments such as you pointed out.
