Magnaflows are on!
Since no hp gains have been reported on cat-backs, I opted for just the mufflers, #14366 stainless.
Cost was $150 for the pair but installation time was 4 hours! Total cost was $475- a bit higher than expected but 1/3 the cost of the cat-back. Shop said it was time consuming and trying to match up the stock tips with the muffler was hard to perform and took a while as they tried to get everything in place- but the tips are alligned nicely and since they polished them, they do look great.
Will take some shots- the mufflers are installed at an angle to allow the tips to be reinstalled.
As soon as I turned on the ignition I heard the great deep growl of Magnaflows and know I had forgotten what it was like to hear the Vette idle. (my C-5 had GHL cat-back and was noticably louder). Accelerating was great and I can hear the car again.
However, after "detuning" my ears with the stock exhaust for the last 1,400 miles, the deeper exhaust note is taking a bit getting used to, since I am comparing its sound to the quietness of stock before. I can't imagine how Borlas or Bullets would sound in the cabin since the Magnaflows are reportedly one of the quietest mufflers. I can hear the exhaust's deep sound in the cabin in varying degrees through the rpm band, but it isn't annoying or conflicting with the radio. It is loudest in the 2000 range.
Since I can hear the exhaust now, it almost seems as if acceleration is faster than before; probably just due the awareness of the acceleration itself vs. not hearing much rpm gains before.
I must have really been enjoying the new sensation as I sped along; got stopped by a cop and got a ticket for speeding 55 in a 35 zone, which I hardly noticed due to my fascination with the new found growl.
At least the cop reduced the infraction to 44 miles- time for a "fixer-upper" and get rid of this ticket!
All in all, glad to have the mufflers on and hear what the car really sounds like.

, Have about the same mileage on mine and love the clean deep sound.

To anyone thinking that Magnaflows are "quiet", that is a relative term.
They sound great but are "noticable" at all rpm's, unlike stock mufflers.

They sound better on the Corvette, likely because I am sitting much closer to them than I am in the Mercury!
