I have less than 1,300 kms on my C6. With about 3/4 of a tank, my gas gauge started jumping back and forth from 0 to 3/4. With the gas gauge reading 0, the display shows "service fuel system". Then, the engine light came on. A trip to the dealer found nothing wrong and the computer was reset. On the drive back home from the dealer, again the gas gauge started jumping and the engine light came on again. With another call to the dealer, I was advised that they had another C6 in the shop with the same problem. Has anyone else had the same problem? I think it is a ground issue.
This problem is well known, My 05 C6 Convert. 4000 miles in the shop right now getting the new fuel sending card. It is located in the left Fuel tank and according the the tech. t the dealer. they have done so many of htem they can do in 6.5 hours now...
They drop left rear wheel and slightly drop left fuel tank, replace the sending card and reapply.
The engine light is a rsult of this Card, No other issus were found upon their testing... I also havd the carzy fuel level and Service fuel system message came on as well...
Take it in to the dealer... They even gave me a free Oil change for the trouble...

What is truly amazing to me, is that after the problems with the C5 fuel tanks, that GM would not have conquered fuel tank sending units by now. This goes back to 1997. We have owned four C5s and two of them had this problem, with a slight difference.
Our C6 also has exactly the same Service Fuel System on the DIC and zero fuel level as well.

Jim, didn't GM (Chevy) try to address this at some point in the 2003 model year??
I do recall hearing something about this before...

I think this is a new problem, but all too familiar for me. It happens when you are far away from home.
Just saw "War of the Worlds" - Awesome movie, different to the original which I saw as a young boy. Cameo at the end with Gene Barry and Anne Robinson from the original 1953 Sci-Fi thriller.
The ability to fix this problem varies between dealers. My dealer did not have any idea what to do until I told them. They had it 2 full days. Guess what? The f&*king thing just came on again! Ask your dealer if they have done any work like this before or you will regret it.

same thing happened to me...next tank and frickin messg came on again..."Award winners".gotta love it.
Am in line to get Z06 in September so I was going to sell car this month. Guess what? Hard to sell car with Check engine light on and GM has no clue how to fix permanently. If the Viper had better service I would buy one. Thinking maybe M3 until bugs are worked out.

Same problem here, just got the car back and the card was replaced. Didn't have to drop all that stuff mentioned earlier like the exhaust and tranny. So far so good. Also fixed the sensor tripping the Traction Control alert.
