Default Auto trans leak

I was at Watkins Glen yesterday with my automatic C6 Z51 for some track time. Transmission kept overheating and was leaking fluid. What's the deal? How do I check the level in the transmission without going to a dealer?

I saw 1.2g a couple times though the uphill. Stock tires with 1.5 of negative camber. G meter must be wrong?

Thanks.

Automatics and hard road racing generally don't get along too well...you might need to get a bigger add on trans cooler to run in line with the stock Z51 cooler.

I know, I tryed it with a Auto C4 several years ago. Didn't have a problem with the tranny.

If I add an addition cooler how do I check the fluid level?

Back to my question. Do I really have to go to a dealer like the owners manual says.

Thanks.

No need to go to the dealer, there is a drain/fill plug on the side of the trans (gotta jack up the car quite a bit to get to it) and if you unscrew it some fluid should leak out...if not then it might be a bit low and you should refill it (using a pump of some sort). I'm assuming that the leak you're experiencing isn't coming from that bolt though.

Do I check it with the car running?

If I jack the car the tranny will not be level. Have to use a lift.

I drove 300 miles after I left the track and no leaks. Hope it was just a vent. I can't beleive that the tranny is totally sealed, since liquid expands when it gets hot.
