after i got an exhaust my car is revving after i switch gears. when i shift from 2500 rpms or so the rpms drop to about 1500 and they raise back up to about 2000 by itself , i dont think it did that befor e the exhaust . anyone have this occur, what do you think causes this, should i take it in to the dealer, or not waste my time?

Ok, so you aren't speed matching when you shift, and the momentum of the car is forcing the engine to assume the correct RPM for the existing road speed when you let out the clutch. Sounds like it is working correctly to me. To stop this behavior, which is hard on the clutch, you should learn to use the throttle while shifting so the engine will be speed matched when you let out the clutch.

i have been driving stick for 10 years, and im sure that my driving skills have nothing to do with this problem , especially since the car wasnt doing this before the modification.

What type of exhaust system was installed? Was anything else done at the same time? Have you contacted the installer?

Sounds (to me) like a minor leanness issue that could be associated with the new exhaust. The Engine computer should learn this situation in 50-200 miles of normal driving and retune the car for the new conditions. E.G. it should go away all by itself.

no i havent called the installer, but i dont think it has anything to do with it. could it be the computer trying to recalibrate itself for the increased airflow exiting the exhaust? i know that sounds a little farfetched. (what do you guys think?)
the dealer said it had something to do with the cluster, i dont think he knew what he has talking about.
