Not sure what this was. Now that I have more miles on the car I decided to go WOT in 3rd shifting fourth. When I made the shift (6200RPM), I felt the front of the car float right to left then staighten out. The rear was glued, it's the front that seemed to move.
I figured it was my imagination so I tried it again and sure enough same result. Any ideas what this is?
I think this is normal. Your engine has a moving mass that is spinning fast in a particular direction, a moment of inertia. I think it naturally wants to move this way. If the engine were turned 90 degrees, I don't think you'd experience this phenomenon.

I agree with your observation but I don't think this is the issue. I've not experienced this with other performance vehciles.
This is fairly normal. The engine has loaded up the chassis with the TQ it is accelerating the car with, say around 350 lb-ft of TQ at 6000 RPMs. When the clutch goes in or the throttle comes out, the enigine is no longer loading up the chassis and the chassis flexes back to its unloaded position. This flexing changes the alignment settings ever so slightly and this causes the front end to make a latteral movement.
This occurs when you pull the front wheels off the ground. This is normal on 3rd to 4th power shifts. A small momentary wheelie at 100mph + will give you this unsettling feeling.
Seriously, my personal opinion is that this is not normal. I might believe it if you were talking 1st to 2nd or even 2nd to 3rd. The chassis shouldn't flex THAT much. But I could easily be wrong on this one. I'd check alignment. Especially if it does not occur on other shifts.
It's been known for a long time that 3rd gear gremlins don't get along with 4th gear gremlins. 4th gear gremlins only like 1st gear gremlins. you didn't eliminate CAGS did you?

You guys are pretty funny. It just seems odd to have this lateral sensation. The dealer did my alignment before I drove the car home.
As for the gremlins, my son saw one in the backyard. When he asked me what it was doing I told him going potty. Afterward, I left a little pile of mini marshmellows as proof.
