Took the car back to the dealer this week for the second trip on an oil leak at the rear of the car. The first time they put dye in the differential oil and sent me home. This time they determined that the seal between the transmission and differential had to be replaced. Service Manager told me that he received a TB on the issue today. Could not get the link to the GM tech board to work. Can anyone confirm the new TB? Sounds like another potential problem for everyone.
Dealer had parts overnighted and should have it back to me tomorrow.
I asked the Service Manager if he could put syncromesh oil back in and he told me that he could only use ATF. He claimed that he even called his tech rep and they told him the same thing. He also told me about having to recently deny transmission warranty work on a Corvette that had used a purple trans fluid. Dallas dealer is Friendly Chevrolet.
I guess when it comes right down to it, the dealer can deny warranty work for anything they want. I also understand that we can fight them and try to get the bill paid, but you're out the money until it's resolved.
