First thoughts of the hurricane are that it is heavier than the stock air intake. The hurricane is a lot of work to install it took me around 4-5 hours and I am a license mechanic and a mechanical engineer. It is made out of fiberglass and it is very very fragile. Infact mine had a crack right on the seam about 12 inches long. I fixed it by applying silicone to the inside. The hurricane also looks homemade and it is very difficult to get all the screws to line up when installing. It also does not come with a seal where the hurricane meets the mass air flow meter. I called WCC and they said that a seal is not needed. That means that the fiberglass outlet gets clamped directly to the mass air flow meter. I know that after a while with vibration this will not stay sealed, but WCC assured me it will. There is no problem with clearance to the hood and after the install. It makes the engine compartment look mean.
Well....It works. The car's acceleration is effortless, it screams to the redline. The car feel a lot smoother. There is no added noise like some air intakes. I took it on the express way and I reached 100mph on the on ramp!! It really gets up and goes now. I'm glad it wasn't a waste of time and money, I'm happy with the results.
