Default X-Pipe/Headers Question

I've got a DSOM C6 Coupe with the Quad Oval Tip Bullets on there. I wanna add the B&B X-Pipe next week. Am I expecting the car to be louder with less resonance? Also, I noticed the B&B Long Tubes have no cats. Will I pass a smog test if I slap those on? If not, what can I do where I keep my cats but get some long tubes on there? Or should I just weld the stock cats onto a short tube setup (can you even do that)? Thanks for the info!

Default B&B x-pipe with cats.

B&B actually sells a x-pipe with cats. I don't think the car will pass emissions without the cats...I'm not sure though.

The cats are on the "down slope" below the stock manifolds. The X-Pipes do not have cats in line with them. Any long tube headers will eliminate the space where the cats are from the factory. So, if you want cats and headers, they must somehow be incorporated into the X pipe. As someone said, B&B makes an X pipe set up this way. Or, you can have one welded into an X pipe later.

I would call Mike at B&B and discuss your options with him. He is very knowledgable on this topic. The "Boss" (Billy Boat) owns a C6 that is one of their test vehicles.

I have been told that here in California with the new smog testing machines you cannot pass smog with headers installed.
