Default Hurricane Intake System

I have been looking to modify the air intake system on my C6 and was considering the Hurricane Intake System sold by West Coast Corvettes.

As anyone ever installed one of these units and if so, did you realize or feel the 35 hp they claim as the increased power??

I've installed a WCC HUrricane intake. I can't say that it gave me exactly 35 hp but I can say that it works.

The acceleration is definetly alot smoother. It also seems to have more power in the mid to high r.p.m range. You can be doing 100 m.p.h and it just wants to be going faster and faster.

johnnybegood,

Did you add the kit including the spark plug wires and new thermostat or just the air intake??

I already had the 160 degree thermostat. I did not chnage the wires though. I do not plan on changing the wires, I don't think it will make a difference. You would have to take the upgraded wire and take the stock wires and measure the resistance for the same length wire to see if there will be any gains. I really like the hurricane because it is a cold air intake and there is no added noise.

JBG,

Cool.

I think I will make mine just like yours with the thermostat and the intake.

Thanks.
