Recently I have noticed a grumbling noise in the rear at slow speed when backing up or turning tightly in a parking lot. I liken it to the rattle of a bad universal joint. Took it to the dealer who changed the tranny oil... noise still there. Wish they'd check before sending it back!
No sound going straight or at higher speeds, just low end. Car has about 12K km. on it, otherwise no problems. Anyone else wuth the same problem or a solution?

Mine had a very similiar noise. Took to the dealer and they knew right away what to do. They replaced the rearend synthetic oil with the traditional oil and an additive. They told me to drive it 300 miles without any WOT. It's been about 1,000 miles now and still no noise. They said it was a similiar problem with the C5.

Lil Red, I had a very similar experience with 2 cars...an '04 C5, and an '02 BMW M3. The fix for the Vette was the above mentioned oil and additive swap, the BMW M3 required a new Differential. Both sounded the same, very noticable in the tighter turns at slow speed. Best of luck with yours...
I had (have) this exact same problem with my C5 and no one at Corvette that I spoke with (several times), from David Hill, Dave Peacy, Wil Cooksey, Bill Nichols on down to the local dealers, could provide a solution. Yes, in he beginning they said to replace the synthetic with petroleum based fluid, but that did nothing and the above guys finally agreed. The last word I got was they haven't a clue as to why some do and some don't have the "rumble", but that no related repairs/performance problems are involved.
Mine does it also. They need to change rear end oil along with limited slip additive. Only problem with that, in CA it's illegal to use because it's on our hazard materials list, have to buy out of state.
