Default A6 and Mods

I have not seen the specs on the A6, however, from what I have seen posted by some individuals that seem to know what they are talking about it appears that the maximum input TQ on the transmission is 430 Ft Lbs.

So my question is how many mods can be done to the car (without beefing up the transmission), it appears intake and catbacks will put you close to the 430 mark.

For those in the know is this a correct assumption ?

Too soon to know. Until there are some out on the streets and in the hands of qualified racing tranny experts there's no definitive answer to that question.

Yes.

The A4's life is drastically reduced by going over its torque rating with engine mods. That's why so many were replaced with FLP Level IV transmissions.

The A6 will likely see a similar reduction is life if mods take you over its torque rating.

Not to get too far off topic but a cold air intake and cat back exhaust will not yield a 30hp gain on a C6. Most of the cat backs available right now won't even show a 3hp gain in most cases, they will alter (in a good way IMO) the sound/tone though.
Intakes have yet to truly prove themselves as well, the factory actually did a very decent job in these two areas.

I think the A6 will handle the normal bolt ons (headers/intakes/gears/thermostat/tuning) quite well but anything past that (heads and cam/forced induction/nitrous) could take it's toll on a stock trans over time.
It will be quite some time until higher stall torque converters and transmission shift point/firmness tuning are available for this new trans though.
