Z51 package and performance gear

It is a auto so 3.15 gears. I guess the 1/4 mile difference between the 3.15 and 3.42 gears in the 6 speed is about .13 seconds. Does that sound about right given same car and driver. Same track conditions also.

there is no 3.15/3.42 in 6 speed cars. the 3.15 is ONLY available as a rear end gear ratio in two cars...
2005 A4 w/ performance axle option
2005 A4 w/Z51 option
....that's it.
*ALL* 6 speed cars have 3.42 rear gears. the Z51 cars simply get lower ratios in the first three gears (1 - 3) of the 6 Speed transmission. beginning in 2006, the new Auto will be the A6 and then ALL auto transmission cars will get the 2.56 ratio. there won't be a "performance axle" option for autos OR any difference in the rear ratio for auto/Z51 cars.

The gears in the Z51 M6 all have a lower ratio, except 4th and 5th.

I was not talking about the A6 transmission. That is available in 06. As far as the gears in the 6 speed manual trans aren't they the same as prior years even in the Z51 package. The only tremac trans that is different to my knowledge was the Z06 trans in 02-04.

All 6 speed manuals come with 3.42 rear axle ratios.
