I would try a specialty shop for camera mounts / suction cups first...

Harness bars or fab an interior mount might be "less paermanent"

Good luck

Default i did

well haulina29 i HAD to drill a hole in my transparent top

i lost 2 bullet cams on suction cups.... at 180 mph there is quite a bit of drag

so now my only choice is to hard mount through the top
i bought a transparent top to mount the camera to and we will see how it goes here are some pics of the install videos to follow

if you have the xm wart you could use that instead if drilling a hole, but you've probably already thought of that and that's why your asking.....so sorry...I spoke before I thought...

Can you explain to me why you would want to mount a camera on the top of your vehicle? The camera can be mounted inside the car. Why the top? Inquiring minds want to know.

I can mount this one inside outside, in the back on the hood ,door etc, 6" suction with pump that holds at 70psi. Using ulead editing software, I shot scenes that go from viewing the front wheel turning to watching me steer to a view out the front with speedometer in view reaching 150 mph...

to each his own
i love where the camera is at my wires are clean it looks nice

i went on a run this weekend with 80+ cars 5 ferraris a couple lambos about 50 porsches and 10+ vettes everyone was checkin out the cam and thought it was awesome
some people can appreciate a clean install even if it does cost 1400 more than the 6 suctioncup setup with wires hanging all over the car

or maybe i should have hung it from the windshield along with an aftermarket nav unit cause i am sure i coulda picked up one for 1000 less than the stock nav and maybe i could mount a v1 there too

man that would be sweet

rmitchell that is sano , I would roof mount over a hand held camcorder on a 20 dollar bracket anyday plus your up high looking down and forward not thru a dirty windshield . Leave the camcorder at home with mom and the kids and step up to the real deal . God forbid you drilled a hole in a 1400 dollar glass top if you read his posts he bought a second top just to drill . Post some vids .

thanks haulina29
some of these guys cant grasp the value of not having reflection off their window or having an 8 inch suction cup scratching up their orange peel paint job

i love my top too that is why i bought another one

check this page out look at all the pics there are some nice cars here and some awesome wheels and the cool thing is that they all fit under the car looks real cool like that (waste of a little more than 1400 to me?) but hey i wasnt gonna say anything about that crap eventhough i almost S@#$ the first time i saw it
