I read an enormous amount of posts referring to the many "cat-back exhaust systems AND the factory exhaust, in that after some amount of miles - the "Sound" changes.
Example: "You think it sounds good now, wait until you get another 3000 miles!"
I am confused as to how exhaust sound changes? Particularly in systems that don't contain packing or some other component that can break-down with more use, heat or time?
Can someone explain?
Some have postulated that it is due to the buildup of carbon in the mufflers, giving it a different tone.I personally think that as the engine gets broken in,it just flows better, thereby altering the exhaust note.I know my stock system sure sounds great! When I hear others state that their's is too quiet,I begin to wonder if our cars came with different systems from the factory.
