Default dragstrip results with cam/headers

I got in about 6 runs or so at Norwalk Raceway yesterday. Usually as it goes no one ever gets the good ET's that they're looking for during the hot summer months but nonetheless i went anyways. It was a private track rental so those are always fun anyways. Best time of the day was a 12.0 @ 118. For some reason i had a real hard time getting consistant good launches. The 2 good ones that i did get were screwed up by missed shifts down the track . If i couldve combined just one good launch with one good run i wouldve seen at least a 11.9 or better. It was a beautiful nice sunny day but the temperature was horrible for drag racing. In the shade temps were around 85 or so, track temps had to be around 90 degrees. One thing that made me feel better was one of my friends was out there that has an 03 cobra with a Whipplecharger on it. I have personally seen it dyno around the 585+ hp mark. Anyways his best run was 11.7 @ 121 (not the best driver) He then asked me to try it out to see if something was wrong, either with his car or the driver. My one run in the cobra netted an 11.4 @ 123mph. Weight definitely kills those cars. I weighed mine on the digital scale and it came out to be 3190 w/o me in it. On another note my other buddy ran his stock 02 Z06 and his best run was 12.68 @ 111. Anyways, just thought i'd share with everyone. I will definitely be going back when it cools off out here, my goal is to hit an 11.7 on street tires

forgot to add...best 60' time was 1.87 and the worst was a 2.1, the rest were somewhere in between. As far as my ET's i had 2 that were 12.0, 2 that were 12.1 and the worst 2 (missed a gear) were 12.2's

also forgot to add i also dynoed it the day before i went and it put out 430 rwhp

430rwhp will easily get you into the mid 11's with traction. You have to much power for factory tires.I used to race at norwalk in my mustangs when I lived in Ohio. They have a great track with good prep. Those temps always kill times.Im sure your car will be .3 faster in late oct or nov. What cam do you have? Those are good numbers.

1.87 60 ft!!! WOW! Thats the lowest I've seen for the stock tires. Wonder what that number would be with drag radials. Great runs man!

Cam is made by Comp Cams (specs are shown at the beginning of vid that i posted the other day), headers are Stainless works (no cats)

last time i went i had a 1.83 60 ft time but im happy with anything thats around 1.9 or lower. Drag radials would definitely help me out but i dont want to break anything.

118.XX was my best trap speed

the driveability of the cam is real good...as long as the tuning is where it should be (mostly idle parameters)

GMR Speed (Hinckley, Ohio...also a supporting vendor on this site) did the tuning using LS2 Edit but soon to be replaced with HP Tuners software

Good Results,
Jusging by the Z06 times it looks like the heat was sucking up 5-6MPH...So you could probably push out a 123mph pass in good weather .

Are your only mods the cam, the headers/exhaust, and the tune?? Do you had any head mods, porting, polishing, etc.?

His only mods are the cam, stainless works LT , halltech stinger, corsa cat-back and a tune. He put down some great numbers and did very good at the track considering the heat. The car is amazing. Everthing else is stock on the car. FOR NOW....lol
