Default Best C6 cold air?

My friend just bought a C6 vette, and now he wants to battle. So i'm ordering him a set of LG motorsports headers, and now looking for a badass air intake system.

I have the vararam on my car...is there anything like that for the C6?

the LPE bottom breather puts up the highest numbers I've seen of any of the bottom breathers. $399 shipped I believe. Something like 20rwhp/20+rwtq.

If you want a water safe, no shroud cutting approach, Halltech's Stinger SSM puts up really nice numbers as well. I've seen anywhere from 11ish rwhpand rwtq to 15+ rwhp and rwtq. Also $399. Makes it possible to return the car to stock without buying a new shroud.

Halltech also has a Cold air option that installs scoops next to the radiator in the mouth of the front bumper. Sucks in ambient air and throws it at the air intake. Plus side of this is that your entire engine compartment gets ambient air, and would help cool off everything under the hood. This goes for around $150 I think.

I opted for the Stinger + CAI. Got it from nlperformance for $518 shipped.

hehe. They are rather high. It's stepping into Headers territory. But meh, the LPE posted graph confirms it. I don't think a reputable company like LPE would bother fudging numbers this much. They did allude to finding some secret that the other intake makers missed. I'd love to find out what it is

cool fella's..thanks. I know C5 stuff but, not too much about the modern C6. I'll look into them both....haltech with the fresh air sounds groovey... i'll call Lingenfelter as well.

Thanks

Only iffy for me in that I wouldn't expect an increase in torque at low rpms when the air flow isn't threatened. With my pulls I only seen it at the top end which I expected. The lower end torque came from the tune. Just my own experience

Tune? The guy that posted LPE numbers was for intake + tune? I thought it was intake only?

I think jimman meant on his car he did a tune and the lower RPM #s were improved due to that tune.

I am "the guy that posted LPE numbers" and you are indeed correct, there was NO tune on my car, it was just the air box kit. Here's that post picture: (thread )

I have the Honler and am very happy with it. Dynoed 357RWHP/349RWTQ on a bone stock car in 100 degree weather. My second choice would be LPE.....

Vararam has a product advertised for the C6 but says it is not released yet. I think I would wait and see what they come up with. For the C5 nothing is close, maybe their C6 product will perform just as well.
