Default Borla Owners - Questions

Questions -

I saw the yellow Borla car at Carlisle. Loved the sound of the Stingers.

1 The Stingers seemed loud enough, but not as loud as BB Bullets in the mid rpms (typical driving). I didn't get to drive it, but this seemed to be my impression as I reved it up slowly. Is this correct? This would be good to me, because, although I love the tone of the Bullets, I thought they were too loud for me during casual driving.

2. The tips stuck out beyond the rear bumper by about 3/4 inch. Is this the general experience? I'd be worried about burning my leg, or worse, my 4 year old son burning his! Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks.

don't know @ the sound of the b&b's, however the borlas sound GREAT...
As far as the tips go... mine stick out @ 1/4 inch. But the contour of the body would keep any one standing or walking by from coming into contact with mine...
p.s. I installed mine in the garage, on jackstands...

The borla's on mine are loud when you want them to be and none when you don't. The only time they resonate is with the top up, windows up, and I'm doing about 2500-3000rpm. Other than that there is no drone. If the B&B bullets compare to the SLP loudmouth then those things are just stupid loud and resonate more than my straight piped diesel.

i have the borla stingers without x-pipe and IMHO they are loud in low rpm and then as you rise they sound like an indy car. Ive heard SLP's and b&B's and they are tamer then those. I have no complaints i love em. I find myself stepping on the gas more though i love the sound....Especially in an underpass

bought my Stingers after hearing them at Bloomington. The beauty of Borla's is that they have just the right combination of rumble and muscle, but no drone. They are never loud to me, have just the right growl, but every head turns when we go by. So the real impact is where it should be, on those you are passing!

Did not get the X-pipe, like the burble. cb

Default Borla's

I got the X pipe and Borla aggressive system. I love the sound, your neighbors will know when you leave and come home though.

ive got the Borlas. Have the X-pipe but i did not install cuz i like the burble. The tips stick out just a bit, not enough to concern myself with burning legs. The sound is PERFECT in tone and loud but not obnoxious....you can keep it civil if you are careful with the throttle. Obviously there is more noise inside but can still listen to radio and talk just fine, very little drone. Get them you wont regret it

Borla aggressives with x-pipe are a safety mod.

You will never come around a corner and slam on the brakes because of a jaywalker, they will hear you coming.

LOL - I was being serious.

Came home a couple weeks ago, my pool serviceman was running out to get in his truck.

He had parked in the driveway (a big no-no; he is a contractor, not a houseguest). He has been here every week for 10 years and knows the house rules.

After he had moved his truck....

"Sorry Roy, thought you were out of town, but I heard you coming about a block away."

LOL

BTW, you can come off the line fairly quietly IF you really need to, as when lined up next to the local or state LEO.

No, I know you were serious! I just love the tone of the Borlas; clearly my favorite. I just have to decide one day to pony up the 1g and make the move!

Keep an eye open for a used set - they have popped up here once or twice from owners that wanted something a little quieter.

Not often, but it has happened.
