I have an 05 C6 1SX with, oddly enough, homelink and a compass/dimming interior rearview mirror. The homelink works fine, but, I cannot seem to get my compass/self dimming to operate. Any suggestions? I know the car did not come with one standard. Is this just a dummy mirror? I know it is getting power b/c the map lights on the underside work. Please advise.
this is just an uneducated guess, but check the wiring harness in back of the mirror. the non dimming ones only have 3 wires (mine), and the autodim have more. If you've only got 3 wires, thats probably why it doesn't work.
Don't have a compass, my my rearview mirror dims just fine. Set it up through the DIC
I've got the 1SB option and it didn't require anything be done with the DIC to get the autodimming with the rear view mirror. As a matter of fact, the owner's manual doesn't mention any use of the DIC with the mirrors. The autodim feature starts automatically when you start the car.

How?, 1SX does not come with either and the only way you could have them is a mistake at the factory or it was installed after the build.
I've checked the connections. They are all there. If it was a dummy mirror, why would they waste mfg costs/etc to put the mirror/compass buttons on the mirror? I know I have a morphadite of a car, BTW.....you're right, pipedreams, homelink nor compass mirror are part of the 1sx package. Even more interestingly, my car also has a cargo net and luggage shade.
Doesn't the C6 have the Homelink on the driver's sun visor (as shown in the owner's manual)? I keep hearing about a rear view mirror with Homelink, which has me thoroughly confused. For example, there was a long thread in which Parts Bob at Fichtner was trying to supply a rear view mirror with Homelink, was trying to get the proper connection from GM (if I recall correctly).
I own a 1SX, so I don't know nothin'. My car does have the cargo shade and net, which I'm beginning to believe GM puts in *all* C6's. I also have a power passenger seat, but that was done to get the car out of the factory when they ran out of manual seats last December.

Ya, did you buy the car new with that mirror on it? I know a handful of people got the dual power seats to keep them from being held up at the factory for a while but the mirror is the first I have heard of this.
