Default Tire Pressure Sensor Help

I just installed a new B&M shifter (which is terrific, by the way) and while I was at it installed a new console. Everything is running fine, but strangely enough the "Check Tire Pressure Sensor" and when I check each tire on the display it reads "xx". Is anyone familiar with the wiring on the sensors? or what the issue might be.

Thanks!

I think the TPM (tire pressure montior) sits behind the console above the sterio. It is part of another control unit (door locks?) that I can't remember the name of at the moment. Don't have the manuals handy. Anyway you may have a loose connector or possibly a blown fuse.

As you probably know, the TPS (tire pressure sensor) is a radio transmitter that talks to the TPM (they aren't wired in). So either your TPM has lost power/connection to the DIC or it has somehow lost the TPS registration.

sounds like I'm getting closer to the problem. Do you by chance know where I can find a manual with more details on the wiring ... I'm sure I have a loose wire...just need to find it

The remote control door lock receiver sends the tire pressure info to the DIC. It sits right behind the center console air vents. It looks like it has three connectors that plug into the front of it. The connectors face out towards the vents.

I just got home tonight and have two bad sensor's (RF, LRear). Tonight they finally went from pressure 0 to pressure XX and the system is now reading "service tire pressure monitor" versus "flat tire" I've orderd the bartec tool and will be resetting the TPS's on Tuesday or so next week.

JMESS is correct; from the wiring diagram the hazard light switch routes to the RCDLR and you may have pulled it when the hazard switch came out with the center console!!

Ironically, on the same page in the helms manual; (7) or G302 ground is in the car and it controls all the lighting for the rear-end (think blackouts). I just happened to be looking up some things tonight....

This is most helpful. I'll check the hazard switch again. Went to the dealer yesterday (their service department rocks and they do all kinds of things for me) and the tried to reset the sensors and I still get the xx and service monitor command. So, I bet it's the wiring. Well, today's project is the console comes out again so I can check.

How did this work out? Did you get this wiring issue cleared up?

I've got the same DIC message. I took my baby in and the dealer said they had to pull the module and reprogram it. One week turn around, A lose wire makes more sense to me.

Yes ... check this out. I had a second error message appear, "Service Fuel System" and my gas gauge went to empty. So, back to the dealer.

The dealer mentioned that the monitor was working but a dead battery probably lost the connection with the sensors. They reset it and all is working.

They still have the car since they are waiting on a part for the gas sensors.

I've had one problem after another with the car (3 power top failures) but I love the car so won't yet give up on it.
