Hello we have been testing the TCM and with good results. Had 2 A4 LS2 GTOs on our dyno day @ Revxtreme. One had the stk converter and the other a 3500yank. Right now we can really firm up the shifts and manipulate the up and down shift points. (The 2 GTOs needed to have their up shift points moved up, make the shift point just past peak power makes the car faster.) Many times when one is wanting to accellerate the car will not kick down. We can fix that and make the car much more fun to drive. I look forward to doing some high stall converter vettes soon!

I am under the impression that a convertor is only good once head and cam work is done? Headers intake and tune it would be a waste to install a convertor, is that true?
Wrong, I have many customers with bolt-ons in the low 12s to mid 11s. How did they get there? the converter gave them between .2-.8 in the quarter. We have a shop car STK heads and cam that just changed the converter from a 3000yank (has run a best of 11.6) to a Yank 3600 SS and dropped .2 more in the eighth mile and .1 in the '60. Has not been to the Quarter yet but we expect .3 there.
The converter is just like a cam or a turbo charger. when selected properly the performance can be astounding. Each converter has different characteristics. One will lay down a killer '60 and not pull that hard from a roll, another will do a mediocre '60 and pull real hard in the 2nd eighth mile, etc.
