Default GM Cat Back Exhaust

I had no luck in general but who makes the aftermarket GM exhaust? I believe it is Borla and has I think a corvette emblem on the tips. Does anyone have pics and what about drone?

jimman had this on his car. I believe it is the equivelant of the Borla Touring which I had on my car. Tone is deep, drone is minimal and quite tolerable.

I think the only ones that don't have drone (really don't have drone) are the stock cat back mufflers. I have a really low tolerance for drone and I can tell you that the touring were actually tolerable. Drone zone on a M6 is at 1600 RPM.

I have an auto I am leaning towards the Corsa Sports for the no drone but the tips on these are really sharp. I love the B&B's but drone is a no-no.

I am going to go with a set of headers and felt like the exhaust and the headers were going to be a bit much. One thing to definately note is that I am yet to see anyone on here actually post a dyno sheet (other than a vendor) showing an improvement in HP with just a cat back. In fact, if and when jimman chimes in, he will tell you about how he actually lost 2 hp on the dyno after installing this exhaust and a set of K&N air filters.

Well I just ordered the LG's and I agree that Cat Backs on the C6 doesn't add any HP. I wanted something but not my C5 all over again and a C6 is no mustang with bassani so I was thinking the stock tips look wimpy so Corsa a little louder not much and a nicer look but the tips on the GM/Borla looked really nice.

Just removed the GHL's off my '05 Z51 C6 A4, Terrible interior resonance right at 1600 rpm. Couldn't ignore it so I put the OEM's back on for now. The resonance may be more noticeable in the automatic then in the manual.

I had LG install the Borla touring catback w/x-pipe package on my C6 w/m6 this past week and there is no drone at highway speed. In fact, with the damn chip rock that Tx is using on the secondary roads, the tire noise over powers the Borlas. They are slightly louder than stock in the lower gears and sound fantastic coming off the line or during a passing roll on. Lets put it this way, I have to remind myself to shift out of 5th sometimes. That's how mellow the exhaust note is. I love it !! Mikey

No drone at all. And absolutely no power gain.

Stock baseline

After a few thousand miles, same temp and humidity but with the K & N filter added to the stock intake and the Performance exhaust.

This brings up a question. I'm close to pluuing the trigger on a C6 and I'm thinking of leaving the OEM exahust (cat back portion) but installing some LT headers, high flow cats and an X-pipe. I know the C5 Z06 Ti exhaust ectually sounds fantsatic set up like this with ZERO resonances, does anyone know how the C6 oem exhaust sounds with some LT's? And considering there isn't any HP gains like in the C5 why waste the money on that, I'd rather use my mod $$$ for some LT's.

I had a short discussion with another CF member who put the Sports on his A4. He reports that there is some drone at "slow" (not getting on it) acceleration at normal traffic speeds to the point that he is considering to add a sounliner in the trunk. This drone may be happening because of the A4. The performance on the remaining spectrum is as for the MN6.
Anyway it made me stop the changover until I hear them myself in an A4.
