Stock bolts are a 13mm head. Dynatech supplies new bolts with a 10 mm head and recommends using anti-seize.

Just installed Dyna Super Max an B@B exhaust on my C6. Did the installation myself. Put the car on jack stands about 16-18in off floor. Worked great. ONE WORD OF CAUTION YOU WILL NEED SOMEONE TO HELP REMOVE AND INSTALL THE HEADERS. If not you will risk breaking a spark plug. I did break a spark plug. Good luck and have fun.

Is there any reduction in ground clearance with either the Kooks or LG headers?

Nope. Tucked up in there in the stock location.

I wish you luck with the Kooks - I had these installed on C5 and have wished I had done the LG's - no dyno increase, no strip increase, ouch!!

Hindsight is always 20/20 huh? When I did my C5 I removed all the spark plugs, and also put an exhaust bolt in front of the temp sensor to protect that from getting whacked.

Hope you got it all fixed without too many more headaches?

I thought you would have dumped the KOOKS and gone ahead and pulled the trigger on those LGs by now.

How long has it been, what 5 or 6 months since you installed the KOOKS and got no gain?

It certainly would be interesting to see how much, if any, gain the LGs would get you above the KOOKS.

I guess this means that the "adult response" was wrong

Now that's really odd! That is a big difference in head size. Sound to me like the 10mm head would not be much bigger than the thread OD.

The threaded portion of the bolt is 8mm, both the stock and the Supermaxx bolts have flat washers formed to the bolt head so they have almost equal bearing surfaces. Don't understand why the smaller bolt head, there's lots of clearance from the header tubes to all the bolts. No need for u-joints or wobble sockets, I could get a torque wrench on every bolt.
