Purchased C6 Corvette Black on Black convertible. Plan to Lay-up (Wisconsin) November 1. Leased a heated garage, will change oil and attach a trickle charger to keep computer/battery operational. Will add gas stablizer and have car cover. Should I be doing anything else?

If you have mice in that area, have plenty of "good killer food for them", the little bast**ds can get in about anywhere. try to check on you car occasionaly.
My storage place is my own garage so I can keep a close eye on my car
( no mouse problems)
Use a Battery Tender Plus or equivlent, no need to turn it on and off it will do it's magic automatically.
Several mouse traps underneath and a couple boxes of poison.
Stabil in a full tank of fuel, fresh oil change.
Wipe some leather treatment over the leather and buff off.
Wipe some silicone or weatherstrip treatment on the rubber window seals and wiper blades.
If the tires stay on the ground, stop buy once in a while to move it a few feet to prevent flat spots. I leave mine in nuetral with just wheel chocks. That way I don't even have to take the cover off to move it a bit once in a while.
Make sure there are no pool chemicals, electric motors, furnaces ... nearby. They dry rot rubber, and the pool chemicals cause all kinds of corrosion.

Modern gasoline simply doesn't break down after a few months of storage. I think the stabil is a waste of time. If it was going to be stored for 2 years that's a different story.
In Wisconson with a N0V 1 storage date, your looking at probaly 5 months of storage. Gasoline absolutely will go bad in that time without Stabil. I see it every year here in MI, all my neighbors that don't put stabil in their summer toys and mowers, I clean out all the varnish for free beer and pizza come spring time.

Modern gas sucks and goes bad in a few months. However, "old style" gas (leaded gas, like most race fuels or av gas) will last for years.
Fill the tank to the top, too, to keep condensation from forming (even though it's a heated garage it's still a good idea).

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I've owned Corvettes for 34 years and never had a problem over the winter and never used Stabil. I do try and exercise them but have gone many a winter on the same tank of gas in all 3 Corvettes, my tractor, lawnmower, boat etc and never used stabil in any of them and have had no problems. This topic was discussed at length on the NCRS sight by some prettty impressive people with engineering backgrounds and they have also reached the conclusion that modern fuels will not break down over 1 winter.

Ok CapeVette. I read what you have said that gas will last a winter .
Based on that Will it hurt to add stabil?
I just put my boat away for the winter and the Marina said what you did, that no stabil was needed, but it would not hurt either. That its just a waste of money! Whats your read on that, will Stabil hurt or help
Car going away in about a month or so.

Dave, Stabil will not hurt. I think it's a superior product but unnecessary for what I would consider short term storage of 4 or 5 months.
I would avoid using stabil or any other additive. My car sat last winter with the following recommendations from my vette dealer. No oil change was necessary. Oil will last a long time possibly many years. Fill your gas tank and inflate your tires up to 35 lbs. Move the car on occassion to avoid flat spots on the tires. My car has sat up to 5 weeks before I moved it with no flat spots.
