I'm new to this forum and have been doing a lot of reading about avail. headers for the C6. Does anyone make a stainless "shorty" style header to replace the stock ones that use the entire factory exhaust. Its seems to me a 1 3/4 inch or even 1 7/8 inch that used the rest of the factory stuff would be a less expensive choice but still offer a respectable gain in HP.
you can check with dynatech.maybe....I have the long tube KOOKS headers and high flow cats.1 3/4..read some of the articles on headers before ordering anything.then make up your mind..good luck
Shorty headers are what you have now. It can only be that because they have to bolt up to the stock cats. NO tube length, and no real collector. So what did you gain? nothing!!. Save your money and buy long tubes. I've got kooks long tube system. Great fit, no problems, no codes, Just great performance. Along with my cat backs, cam, tunning and 160 stat, I'm over 420RWHP. Point is, I started with headers first and went from there. This is where you should start. My .02 cents.
The cost on the shorties is un believable. Can't quite figure out how they justify that knowing that the long tubes are same price...WITH high flow converters.
