Hi, I'm a new member on this site, with a new C6. I was reading up on exhaust and I'm curious as to what is drone? And if anyone knows whats louder a C5 on stingers or a C6 on GHL. Thank you in advance.
here's Corsa's concept for cancelling drone. Its real quiet when cruising on the highway between 1500-2000 rpm's,as soon as you give it gas you'll hear the drone though.http://corsaperformance.com/arsctech.htm
But with exhausts, it's an interior exhaust sound at certain RPM. You'll know it when you experience it.
Just to add, it's not a boom, boom of engine exhaust which would be tolerable, it's more like a constant sound pressure that I found very annoying with Magnaflow 14335s. And you have to go through it at around 1500 rpm in every gear and under accerlation in any gear. And the problem is best heard in a closed car.
if you really want to hear the worst drone, ride in some punk kids Honda that has exhaust and intake, stripped car if possible. The worst drone ive ever experienced. Drone on acceleration is expected, but drone when youre cruising is ANNOYING.
I have had more then one Corvette and other hotrods with Drone.
It makes you want to never change an exhaust system from stock again. I have a Corsa Sport with X Pipe on my C6 and it is music to your ears.

I have Corsa Sports, Kooks headers and x-pipe. The Vette is very quiet on cruise. No drone at all l
Since no one answered your question about Borla versus GHL I will. I think either C5 or C6 the GHL's will be a tad louder. But there is no drone or resonance in the GHLs at any RPM. Just a nice deep rumble and a roar at acceleration.

Im thinking of getting the GHLs over the corsas, when i look on GHL's website there are two system. Does anyone know what the difference between the two are? To those that have the GHL system is there any resonance at all?
BTW I know you stated that there isnt drone but i ive read maybe one or two people saying theres some. I hope they are wrong.
The two systems on GHL's web site are just a two tip system and a four tip system. I have had GHL's on my C5 and now my C6 and have no resonance or "drone" on either car. They are a fine system and some would not like them because of loudness. To me they are what a Corvette should sound like. Everyone has different tastes and opinions.
But you see in my teenage years, I bought two glasspak mufflers, poured a quart of oil into them before installing on my '54 Mercury convertible and after a month they were almost straight pipes as the firberglass was nearly burned out. It was the best sounding Mercury in the state. GHL's provide the sound a V-8 engine should have. Not the quiet of the stock Vette.

Great response
I currently have B&B Bullets so im sure the GHL system wont bother me. I love the sound of the bullets but the drone gets a little annoying. With my 6sp auto i seem to always be in the resonance area of rpms. Have you heard the corsa sports? If so do the GHLs have a deeper sound? Louder? Thats what i like. Real american V8 sound!
I've read that Corsa Sports have a European sound, but have the least amount of drone next to the stock exhaust. The GHL's have a deeper sound but have a little more drone. I have an A6 also, so let us know how it works out.

Didn't the Mag Red car parked next to you at the meet have corsa's on them. IMO the Corsa's sound fine at low RPM but when you get on it,
