Thats is a tough question. Over the full RPM range different headers make power and torque at different points. LGs make more HP in Low and Midrange than Kooks but tend to "fall" off at the higher RPMS. Kooks make good Horsepower and Torque in the top 1/3 of the RPM range. Dynatech have shown good power thru the entire range on the C6. I have Kooks but if I were to do the mod again I would choose Dynatech Supermaxx
LG's......Because how much time to you spend at the top 1/3 of the powerband??? I would rather get the Low RPM and Midrange Power and sacrifice 2hp up top.
Besides with the Fit and Finish of the LG's who would want anything else??
Gains with headers are complicated, as an example my Dynatech Supermaxx 1 7/8" gained as much as 42 ft lbs of Tq and 20 HP but PEAK gains were only 15.5 Tq @ 4400 RPM and 15.4 HP @ 5800RPM over my first dyno with just the Magnaflows..
The biggest TQ gain is @ 2000 RPM and decreases from there but the main HP gain is from 4500 to 6200 RPM.

LG, why anything else? LG is the ONE that can make your tires break loose at 30mph.

I would take HalJenson's advice and go through TByrne. They have a group buy going for the Dynatech headers right now. Price is dirt cheap. Ask for Carol or Tom. Tell 'em the crazy one from TX recommended them. Also if you go to the Dynatech web site, they have a page that shows local installers by state. http://www.dynatechheaders.com/
Had KOOKS on my C5, but if I were going to do the mod on my C6 it would be LGs for the reasons already mentioned.
If your car lives in the upper 1/3 of the RPM band, ie frequent drag racing, then perhaps KOOKS. But the LGs are going to give you the low end torque you'll feel during most of your driving.

Thanks guys!
Can't say that you'll go wrong with any of the long tubes mentioned in this thread. They all offer good quality and performance. I have a set of Dynatech's ready to go on my C6 soon.
tbyrne; sorry about the typo, I just corrected it in the original post.
If you want to do some "creative" advertizing for Dynatech I have a dyno that shows a 42 Ft. Lb torque increase just by adding the Supermaxx headers.
That 42 ft/lb of torque is at an RPM that people will feel everyday! We all like to see big peak numbers but it's what goes on in the rest of the RPM range that really tells the story everytime you accellerate.
LG's & Dynamaxx Headers will give me better low end Torque Right?
but Kooks will give better top end? how much power diffrence are we talking here? (Compaired to Others)
you guys said that the best Torque & HP Gains were at only 2000 RPMS right? well lets say i'm racing okay,
The only time i'll see 2K RPMS is in first gear because when i hit 2nd,3rd & 4th i'll allways be over 2k right?
