I have a brand new C6 that is, today, one week old. I drove the car approx. 422 miles and then it threw an engine code. and at the same time gave me the reduced power message. I eventually got it to a local dealer and they had it for two days and said they could only get it to repeat once and then it never happened again. I took the car home last night. Parked it for about 10 min and headed off somewhere. and again.. same code. I Talked to the dealer and he said that it was a P0641 code.. which he explained had something to do with the +5 volt sensor to several different systems. Wondered if any one has seen this before and what advice you might have..
Let the Dealer fix it. That code covers 5 sensors and the diagnostic steps cover 2 pages in the manual.
SENSORS;
MAP = Manifold absolute pressure
EOS = Engine oil pressure
FTP = Fuel tank pressure
The A/C refrigerant pressure
APP = Accelerator pedal position sensor 2
Lots of unrelated sensors.
However I am surprised that the dealer was unable to fix it. While it might be time consuming it appears that the steps are pretty well laid out how to diagnose this problem in the service manual.
It is covered on page 6-655 in the service manual.
Tech worked on the car all day today. Turns out that when the harness was installed a wire was routed incorrectly and was bare.. and under certain circumstances it would ground out.. and give the code. Was nice to get it back.. Woohoo.
