Default Windows won't suck back up!

Okay ever since this whole dead battery problem I've been having a problem with the windows,

When i open the doors the Windows go down a little to let the door open like normal BUT When i close the doors it dosent go back up,

this was happening with the passenger only then the problem just stoped, now its happening to the drivers door.

anyone else have this problem?

To clarify, after raising the window with the switch, continue to hold the up switch for an EXTRA 3 seconds, then release, then hold for another 3 seconds.

Someone has to say it. Resetting window indexing is clearly explained in your owner's manual. It really would be worth your time to read the manual. There's lots of useful information you should know about the car in there.

you can also close the window via the window switch and hold it in the up position for 5 seconds. I know, the manual states another method but I have found this to be the easiest.

basically, hold the switch in the up position for 5 seconds once the window is closed.

Thanks, mine has been doing the same thing. What a stupid hassle! I've never had to "index" the windows in my other cars with this feature (bmw, porsche, etc)

Page 2-17, 2005 Corvette Owners Manual:

Power Window Initialize

After a power reconnect such as battery replacement, the window index-up feature will not function until the system is initialized. Once power is restored, do the following:

1. Close the door.

2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.

3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the window is closed. Release the switch.

4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds and release.

I suppose you stop and ask for directions when you are lost, too!

Actually, Windows still sucks. But switching to Apple means you don't have to hear it anymore. And their stock has made me some money too!

Default Windows sucking

Oh yeah, one other thing I didn't see here. When your battery goes dead and you have to get into the car with the rip cords, don't get in the car and slam the door shut with the window up. I have seen some posts saying that they broke their windows like that. Since I've got so much experience with the DBS, I've learned to leave the door open until I get the car started and then lower the window before shutting the door and resetting the indexing. Hope this might help someone save another headache associated with DBS.
