I Just was at Napierville Raceway in Canada & As i took off i just felt the whole rear FLY OUT! i cracked the whole thing in half,
now i guess i need a new rear, where can i get the cheapest one?
and i had 3.42s should i go with 4.10s?
I saw some previous post that the new 06 rear ends are built stronger than the 05s. I have an 05 and mine came with the 2:73 gears. I have since change the whole rear to a 3 series carrier. I got it from Fred Beans with 3:15s and then had the gears changed to 3:73s since I'm running spray. Do a search and give him a call
Yea AAA Coverd the Tow I Got Lucky, & THe guys at the Boarder was is shock that i Blew the Rear out of a Brand new Vette, They didn't even ask for ID lol

Was "Torque Management" or "Launch Control" removed? If so yours is the second rear end that I have seen on this board which has gone "pop" after such programming. The other one was zippin zee I believe.
Not even that good 12.5@118MPH But i had a half a tank of gas & As soon as i pulled in from a 70 mile drive I Pulled right into the race land , i never let her cool down at all

my Camaro did a better run there 12.3@120
Larry 12.5 @ 118, thats not bad at all. What mods were on your Camaro to get it to 12.3 at 120 ?
12.5 at 118 with just those mods and you only got in one run after rolling in from off a 70 mile road trip. Who knows what it may have run had it not broken and had a chance to cool down.
Sounds like it was just some bad luck and you didn't get out of the throttle in time when it started to hop.
Yeah that time is not bad at all for the mods, especially if it was on stock tires (assuming it wasn't drag radials?).

That was Cartek Racing's post about the stronger '06 rear, you can give them a call as well for they also specialize in building strong C6/C5 rears, theirs have held up quite well in some gard racing conditions. www.cartek.net
what do you guys think i would have gotten if she cooled down
maybe a 12.4?.
hows 118Mph for trap speed?.
Camaro Had just bolt-ons & a 85 shot of NOS
If you figure that the tuning, the breather and the bullets are worth 0.1-0.2 , I''m thinking 12.3-12.4. And maybe even better, because there have been some completely bone stock 12.4s run already. None of them had trap speeds as high as 118mph. 118 is great for a trap speed in a near stock C6.
Also, if it was wheel hop that did it, be sure to check the transmission case and tranny output shaft for damage as well.

My housing also split in half. They have a problem. And I truly believe they should correct it. It is evident that they knew they had a problem when the C6 was introduced or the fix for the 2006 models would not already be incorporated in to those cars. They tried to correct it by stealing HP and torque from our cars with Torque management but when you unleash the beast or encounter wheel hop the weak link breaks.
