Anyone know how to get the driver's side FRC off? Do I disconnect the fuel line (If so, how) or do I try to feed it through the cut out in the cover while attached? (doesn't look like it will do it without chewing the cover up). Thanks.
Use blue 3M painters masking tape on the fuel line AND on the sides of the slot. The FRC bends so you can wiggle the cover off of the fuel line, with care.
Be sure to use tape on both the fuel line and the FRC slot, and two thicknesses to be safe.
If your FRCs are not yet painted, any masking tape will suffice - if they are painted already, or you are installing new ones that are painted, be sure that the masking tape is LOW TACK (ie. easily removed).
Taking off the factory ones that you are not worried about isn't too bad. Putting on nice painted ones can be nerve racking. I bought the $5.00 tool from AutoZone and after de-pressurizing the fuel rail, pulled the line from the firewall side. Even that was a minor PITA because the cover kept wanting to get hung up on the fuel line. All is well after a little patience.
