Yah, the fast is a plenum, not an intake....you should probably take that off the list because I don't think that will help with the answer you are looking for.

I almost though it was a choice between "intakes", but you couldn't pick two. one intake and one air duct, like mix and match. I'll take the "other" with the FAST intake.

no not really, that has been the point of some. Most of the items on the list are not intakes in the traditional sense. The FAST is really an intake (will the real intake please stand up). Intakes used to be the unit that connected directly to the heads. For some unknown reason, folks have started calling the air ducting and filter combination as an intake. arrrrrrrr.

HAHA, I never thought I'd see the day but here it is; an air cleaner has assumed the name intake and an intake was said to not be an intake...LOL.
INTAKE MANIFOLD
AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
Whats more confusing is that the weiand intake is a lingenfelter intake manifold. Lingenfelter makes an intake manifold and an air cleaner assembly.

that's what messed me up at first, then i assumed he was only referring to the c6. but yep, got me two intakes from the old days. Both edelbrocks, I've got a performer and a performer rpm. sometimes i use a spacer, sometimes not. then my holley 650 double pumper sits atop the 360 cu. (bored 350).
I gotta admit it though, I think my c6 is faster than my 'ole 74 camaro. The Camaro has a b&m shifter (automatic), hurst shiftkit, no a/c, flex fan, lunati braket cam, high ratio rockers, dynomax headers, straight pipes (no h or x), super turbo mufflers, turn down tips right behind the axle, small chamber heads (2.02 and 1.5 valves and i think they are 69cc chambers, msd ignition and mallory breakerless (magnetic) distributor. Now it's the project car for me and my 10 yr old son.
To my mind its ok to call anything from the headers back to the tips part of the exhaust. Same on the intake side. An intake manifold refers to one part of the intake, the air filter another. Being older I still think manifold when somebody says intake but I have adjusted to the commonly used intake to refer to the filter and its ducting into the engine.

I think the terminology changed to make you feel better about paying $400 for an air cleaner assembly.
BTW: I have the Halltech and I have no complaints.
All cold air intakes will benefit your car over the stock intake. How much HP gain from a given system is hard to measure because there are too many variables. Dynos can vary, time of day, weather, and measurement error. It's nearly impossible to mark one better than another.
I tend to agree with some of the above comments about being hard to "quantify" one against another. So what I did was lots of research, and based on a variety of factors, realizing there was no one best system, chose and recommend the company which provides the best service, value, deal with issues in a timely manner if they occur, and when they tell me they are going to do X, do it! The best intake; company I vote for is Halltech!
